The Shirt Fit Guide
We know the sizing landscape can feel like a bit of a jungle. Slim, Classic, Relaxed – and that’s before fabric, styling and occasion come into play. But don't worry, we’ve kept it simple: three essential fits, one timeless wardrobe.
This is your guide to understanding which fit is right for you, when to wear what and how a shirt should really fit.
Let’s start with the basics
Whether you lean towards a Slim silhouette or prefer a Relaxed drape, there are a few universal rules when it comes to how a shirt should sit on your body:
The shirt should not pull across the chest, but also shouldn’t hang shapelessly.
You should be able to fit two fingers comfortably between your collar and your neck when fully buttoned. Shoulder seams should line up with the point where your shoulder transitions into your upper arm.
Sleeves should end right where the wrist meets the hand.
And when it comes to sleeve length under tailoring? Aim for your shirt cuff to peek out 1–2 cm beneath your jacket sleeve - just enough to signal that yes, you know exactly what you're doing.
Tailored. Streamlined. Never tight.
Slim Fit
Our Slim Fit is designed to flatter without constriction. It features a single pleat at the sleeve for a cleaner line and is cut to follow the body without feeling overly snug. Think of it as “sharp but wearable” – perfect for those who favour a modern silhouette.
Ideal for:
Office-ready looks with or without a blazer
Evening events where a dressier shirt is required
A crisp, refined silhouette under tailoring
Timeless shape. Effortless ease.
Classic Fit
Cut a little roomier than Slim, our Classic Fit offers a more traditional profile. With double pleats at the sleeve and a straighter cut through the torso, it’s comfortable without being boxy – the perfect everyday shirt that transitions with ease.
Ideal for:
Business-casual environments
Everyday wear with chinos or denim
When comfort matters as much as style
Easygoing. Modern. Unapologetically comfortable.
Relaxed Fit
The Relaxed Fit is exactly what it sounds like – a looser, airier shape designed for off-duty dressing. Featuring double sleeve pleats and a straight, drapey cut, it brings a sense of ease to your wardrobe without losing its structure.
Ideal for:
Weekends, holidays and warm-weather dressing
Layering over a tee or under an unstructured jacket
Anyone who prefers a little extra room
…. But Remember, Fit Meets Fabric
It’s not just the cut that defines the look – fabric plays an equally important role. A Slim Fit in brushed cotton can feel just as relaxed as a Classic Fit in crisp poplin. So while fit gives you the silhouette, fabric sets the tone. Casual or formal? That’s all in the combination.
